The Orleans County 4-H Fair welcomes Fun For Everyone Shows for the 2010 fair. Enjoy rides, games and food on the midway. Buy ride wrist bands on the grounds or, for a limited time, order presale tickets online. Buy online before July 25, 2011 and save!* Presale tickets also available at select locations including the Cornell Coopertive Extension.

 

The fair offers many FREE shows during the week for fairgoers. Free to watch, may be fees to compete.

Talent show - Center Stage
Be entertained and watch local talent from all over Orleans County perform a wide variety of acts. Some acts will be selected to go on to perform at the State Fair Talent Showcase. Greased Pole Climbing Contest: Where can you go to see a team of 6 to 10 people try to scale a greased telephone pole? Come check out one of Orleans County’s most exciting competitions of the year, the Greased Pole Climbing Contest. Watch as teams try shimmy their way to the prize at the top. Those that don’t slip back down the pole receive an invite to the championship run on Saturday. If watching isn’t exciting enough for you, register your team at the Fair Office to compete. Contestants must be at least 18 years old. Teams must register before the start of competition each night. The Greased Pole Climbing contest will be run Tuesday- Saturday. The competition located south of the Carlos Marcello outdoor area.

Poppytown Puppets: Husband and wife team, Marilyn Schroeder & Martin Howard, will transport the audience into a “World of Merry Imagination”. Beautifully hand-crafted puppets, fun, lively, fast paced performances, family oriented stories and music. Visit their web site here.

Extreme Illusions with Josh Knotts and Leah: Prepare to believe as this terrific two-some astounds with escapes, deadly dagger illusions, and make a motorcycle appear from thin air. Some of these illusions are done with extreme personal risk to the preformers and should never be tried at home. Learn more here.

Chee Chee the Clown: Enjoy Chee Chee the Clown and his clown posse as they stroll around the fair entertaining children of all ages. These clowns aren't just fooling around with thier amazing balloon art and hilarious humor.

The Chainsaw Chix: Back by overwhelming demand come and watch the expert chainsaw carving skills of the Chainsaw Chix. This year as a special feature one of the carvings from the fair will be an item in the 2011 Fair Auction. Visit their web site here.

Friday Night Free Band - Kid Kurry Band: Classic rock classically preformed. The Kid Curry Band brings a sampling of music from the past and a bit from today to center stage at the fair. Thier set will run from 6 to 10 and breaking out your dancing shoes is encouraged.

Saturday Night Free Band - Julie Dunlap and High Maintence: The fair will close to the country rythmes of Julie Dunlap and High Maintence as they preform on center stage with a mix of beloved country classics and modern hits. Learn more about Julie here.

Miniature Horse Pull: New to the fair this year another small sized pull off the Western New York Minature Horse Pullers Association will present teams of powerful animals to pull on Tuesday in the Horse Arena. Look forward to wittnessing these trained and powerful animals do what they have been breed and trained to do under the safest of conditions.

Garden Tractor Pull: A fair tradition, watch these lawn and garden sized tractors pull over our dirt track as these custom built machines compete for prizes and glory. The pull is run by Western NY Garden Tractor Pullers.

Don't forget the Thursday Night Showcase featuring a variety of local dance and musical groups.

Other family fun events include the Pedal Tractor Pull, The Children's Duck Race, Famous Brown's Berry Patch Pie Eating Contest, Pagent of the Stars, and Town Hall Meeting with Elected Officials. These and many more can be found on our schedules page.
